Ewart Oakeshott
Ewart Oakeshott (1916–2002) was a British illustrator, collector, and amateur historian best known for his influential writings on medieval arms and armour. He developed the Oakeshott typology, a widely used classification system for medieval swords, and was a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries as well as a founder member of the Arms and Armour Society.
