Charles Eliot Norton

Charles Eliot Norton (1827–1908) was an American scholar, art critic, and Harvard professor based in New England. A prominent social critic and liberal reformer, he was widely regarded as one of the most cultivated men in the United States and helped shape classical and art studies in American higher education.
