Adam Lindsay Gordon

Adam Lindsay Gordon was a British-Australian poet, horseman, police officer, and politician, best known for his energetic ballads and his role in helping establish a distinctly Australian poetic voice. Though he achieved limited recognition in his lifetime, he later became one of Australia's best-known 19th-century poets.
