"The Stone Age did not end for lack of stone, and the Oil Age will end long before the world runs out of oil"(Ahmed Zaki Yamani; former Saudi Arabian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources) . We are living in the age of transformation from fossil fuels to renewable energy. Humanity has benefited from the age of fossil fuels for generations. As the consumption of fuel has exponentially increased over the past few decades, we have started to witness the consequences of continuous dependence on fossil fuels. Degrading climate change and public health, increased global conflicts, and exploited precious and protected national parks are a few of the consequences.Fortunately, we have started to realize the benefits of time-tested, clean and renewable sources of energy in solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and bioenergy, to name a few. Most importantly, technological advances and government policies have helped create a renewable energy industry that can economically compete with the age-old fossil fuels industry. For example, solar energy and wind power are the cheapest sources of energy today. In addition, the renewable energy industry is creating more jobs and economic opportunities than the fossil fuel industry. . Regardless of the climate change debate, we can all benefit from abundance, cheaper, sustainable and cleaner sources of energy. The fact that a shift from fossil fuels consumption towards renewable energy consumption helps improve our climate, is an added benefit.
