But his hopes seemed to be all for naught when Army recruiters caught up with him as a teenager.. He made the fateful decision to make a run for it and he became a political refugee. Eventually, he found his way to the United States of America. His first job was at an apartment complex near Dallas, where he mowed grass and painted for $4 an hour. Life was good!.
